The two opening weeks of district play have provided quality football in Missouri Class 1 and have also provided five teams that have earned district championships and home field advantage in the opening round of the 2009 MSHSAA playoffs. King City earned the district 16 title with Philip Eiberger leading the way rushing 26 times, gaining 194 yards and scored 3 touchdowns in a 26-19 victory over Rock Port.
